This lovely tabby lady has an independent streak and prefers to admire her humans from a lofty perch rather than draped dramatically across their knees all day. Give her the tallest cat tree in the house and she'll happily take up her post, quietly supervising household activities from above like a tiny striped gargoyle with excellent manners.

But don't mistake independence for indifference. Esmerelda is still wonderfully affectionate in her own elegant way, handing out purrs, nose boops, and little moments of love when the mood strikes her. She simply believes affection is best delivered with a touch of mystery and impeccable timing.

Good with children and happy around other cats, Esmerelda would suit a home that appreciates a cat with a little dignity, a little sass, and a very healthy appreciation for elevated seating.

After all, every kingdom needs a queen.
