About Bowie
Hello there! I'm Bowie, and I'm officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR BOWIE
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM

Palliative care:
I was brought into the shelter after getting hit by a car that left me with a significant pelvis fracture, this kind of break can not be fixed with surgery and will eventually lead Bowie down the path of arthritis and pain management, for now Bowie has an excellent quality of life and you would'nt know he has a fractured pelvis by the way he bounds around in his excitement.
Bowie is looking for a home without other animals and kids under 12yrs to prevent further injury and pain during play ect.
But would love a family that will let him live his life to the fullest, daily walks, awesome adventures, beach trips and LOADS of lounge snuggles is a must before his body starts to catch up with him and makes those exciting things harder to do, his activity level will need to be adjusted accordingly as he ages.
I would ideally have a diet/supplement that will support my Joints and slow down my artharitis, I do not need any pain medication at the moment but it is inevitable as I age.
My Ideal Home:
• I'll need daily exercise - walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• I want to be part of the family indoors - not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I'd love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• Most importantly, I'm looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• Socialisation is just as important as training. Taking me to new places, introducing me to all sorts of people, dogs, and other animals will help me grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.
• Training, training, training - it's essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I mature.
• I will need to be the only dog in a home to prevent further injury/pain when playing ect. But I am happy to say a quick hello to other dogs when out and about, I haven't had much experience with other dogs so id love to work on this together.
• I have a high prey drive, so I'm not suited to homes with cats or small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, or ducks.
My Paw-some Perks:
• I'm a very playful, happy pup with the cutest little wiggle-butt when I'm excited.
• I'm highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I'm quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I LOVE toys - especially my ball! Fetch and tug-of-war are some of my favourite games.
• I'm exuberant and full of beans, always ready for fun and adventure.
• I'm clever, enthusiastic, and would thrive with a family who'll continue my training and maybe even teach me some cool new tricks.
Training & Support Needs:
• I haven't had any formal training yet, so I'll need help with all my basic manners and life skills. The good news is I love food and toys, which will make positive training lots of fun and rewarding for me.
• Once I'm settled, I can walk nicely, but I may pull if something grabs my attention or if I decide I'd like to head in a different direction. I can also be strong so a harness or head halter would really help while I continue my training.
• I can be bouncy and mouthy when excited, but consistent training will help me learn calmer behaviours.
• I LOVE my food but can sometimes snatch treats from your hands, I will need to be taught how to be gentle, a slow feeder bowl would also benefit me.
