About Bowie
Hello there! I'm Bowie, and I'm officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR BOWIE
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM

Special needs:
I was brought into the shelter after getting hit by a car that left me with a pelvis fracture, this kind of break can not be fixed with surgery and will eventually lead Bowie down the path of arthritis and pain management (pain medication is roughly $40 per month after an initial vet consultation with a repeat vet consult every 6 months costing roughly $70) I do not need any pain medication at the moment but it is inevitable as I age.
For now Bowie has an excellent quality of life and you would'nt know he has a fractured pelvis by the way he bounds around in his excitement.
Bowie would love a family that will let him live his life to the fullest, daily walks, awesome adventures, beach trips and LOADS of lounge snuggles is a must before his body starts to catch up with him and makes those exciting things harder to do, his activity level will need to be adjusted accordingly as he ages.
I would ideally have a diet/supplement that will support my Joints and slow down my arthritis.
Please Note: You’ll only be able to meet Bowie if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
General:
• I’ll need daily exercise — walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors — not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I’d love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• When I get excited, I can be bouncy and mouthy, so any children in the home would need to feel comfortable and confident around an energetic, enthusiastic dog joining the family and be over the age of 8.
• Training, training, training — it’s essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I mature.
Dog Compatibility:
• A calm, gentle submissive female canine companion would suit me well — although I adore people and would also be perfectly happy as your one and only.
Cat / small animal:
• I have a high prey drive, so I’m not suited to homes with cats or small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, or ducks.
Perks:
• I’m a very playful, happy boy with the cutest little wiggle-butt when I’m excited.
• I’m highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I’m quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I LOVE toys — especially my ball! Fetch and tug-of-war are some of my favourite games.
• I’m exuberant and full of beans, always ready for fun and adventure.
• I’m clever, enthusiastic, and would thrive with a family who’ll continue my training and maybe even teach me some cool new tricks.
Training:
• I haven’t had any formal training yet, so I’ll need help with all my basic manners and life skills. The good news is I love food and toys, which will make positive training lots of fun and rewarding for me.
