About Xanthe
Hello I'm Xanthe,
I'm a very special girl who has been in foster for a total of 7 months and 3 1/2 of those months in my current foster home.
I was a mumma who was pregnant when I came into GAWS then had my kittens. I did not trust people at all and was quite feisty.
I've come such a long way in foster, I have learnt to really enjoy pats, I purr, roll over, headbut, knead, chirp. However small things do spook me still, I'm still working on coming when I am called with clicking fingers I want to but I'm just scared to make the first move.
It is still quiet often I will give a hiss but it's less and less each week, I'm ok with being picked up and moved but don't like being held for long. I'm happy for you to pick me up and put me on the bed for pats. As long as you reassure me and let me relax within 5 minutes I'll be purring away!
I have recently been noticed sleeping up on the bed with my foster carer so I'm finding my confidence in being closer to humans.
I have a lot of quirks such as I will hide in a dark spot such as a shelf or in the corner of a room under a plant if given the opportunity but I don't run away when I'm approached, if approached nice and slowly I'm happy for a pat right away.
I may be a bit of a hard sell but I'm definitely ready to continue my human trusting journey with my forever home, with someone who wouldn't mind gaining my trust.
I LOVE my food and it's a great bribe, I'll come running when I hear my food bowl!
I also need a confident cat companion as I love my cat friends too, they help me come out of my shell.
A home who understands timid cats, is cat savvy but who is willing to continue working on my confidence is what I require, someone who will not care if I give a hiss as it doesn't mean much. Every time I get comfortable on the bed I shower my person with love it's just quite a few things still spook me.
NEEDS: Cat companion, indoors only, very calm dog, NO kids
