About Stanley
With his expressive brows and his big grin, Stanley knows how to draw admirers - which is a good thing for this little attention hog, as there is nothing he loves more than making a new friend (and promptly invading their personal space). Sweet, social, and filled with the confidence that everyone out for a walk is simply waiting to bump into him, Stanley is ready to find a forever home that will appoint him to the important role of neighbourhood greeter.
A lover, never a fighter, Stanley’s excitement to say hello to other dogs can sometimes come on a bit strong. He isn’t bothered being told that he’s been rude, and takes corrections from other dogs in stride without escalating, he doesn’t mean to offend and only wants to please his new friends. His manners are getting much better and he is learning to wait to be approached and greet politely. Although currently in foster as an only dog, we think Stanley would enjoy sharing his home with another large dog or a home where he has regular contact with family/friend dogs.
Currently residing in an inner city apartment, Stanley takes the hustle and bustle of busy streets in stride, and enjoys long walks around the CBD - he can stroll for around an hour or more just taking in all the sights and sounds. While he loves the cosmopolitan lifestyle (and even enjoys catching the train), his energy levels and love of zoomies would be better suited to a home with a yard and the space to stretch those speed sticks. He could easily live in a multi-story house as he is a stair master and navigates them with ease and confidence.
Stanley is a modern man, in touch with his emotions, and not afraid to communicate his needs. Not a breed typical stoic and silent greyhound, Stanley loves a chat and has a range of fabulous vocals such as whines, groans, grunts, grumbles, and even a particularly melodic yawn.
With his wonderful temperament, Stanley could make a great office companion or shop dog, happy to snootervise a work day he will ensure that the KPIs (Keep Patting Indefinitely) are met and just looking at his sweet face is an instant morale booster.

Thinking about adopting?
We’d love to help you find your greyhound match!
To get started, we’ll ask for a bit of information about your home and lifestyle on our application form. This helps us make sure we match you with a dog that suits your household and sets both of you up for success.
Many greyhounds come from racing kennels where they’re used to having other dogs around. Some can struggle being left completely alone, which can lead to signs of separation anxiety like barking or chewing.
Because of this, we usually look to rehome greyhounds into homes where they’ll have company - either human or canine - and not be left alone for more than four hours on a regular basis. If that’s not your setup right now, don’t worry as we’re happy to chat about options such as dog walkers, doggy daycare, or taking your greyhound to work.
Our Adoption Checklist:
To be considered for adoption, we ask that you have:
A secure, fully fenced yard (minimum height around hip height)
A home where the dog is allowed to sleep inside at night
A routine that doesn’t leave the dog home alone regularly for long periods (more than 4 hours) without people or another dog for company
If you’re not sure whether you tick every box, please still apply! We’re happy to have a conversation and see if we have a greyhound who might be the right fit.
Please fill in as much detail as you can as there’s no word limit on any question.
