About Lexi (67778)
Meet Lexi - a clever, energetic girl ready to find her perfect match! Lexi is a bright and active dog who thrives when she has both a job to do and a person to bond with. She is housetrained, knows a range of commands and has a great foundation to build on. She already shows a willingness to learn and enjoys engaging with her people, especially when training is involved. Lexi has been living with other dogs and gets along well with them, though her play style can be a little rough and boisterous at times. She responds to feedback from other dogs, but would benefit from a well-matched canine companion or be equally happy as the only dog with plenty of human interaction. On lead, Lexi can start off strong and excited but settles into a nicer walk once she burns off that initial energy. She is still working through some reactivity, particularly around high-energy dogs, so she will need an owner who is confident continuing her training in this space. True to her nature, Lexi is an intelligent and driven dog who requires plenty of daily mental and physical stimulation (around 2 hours or more). Without this, she is likely to find her own ways to stay busy, so she is best suited to a home where someone has the time and commitment to meet her needs. She is not ideally suited to a full-time working household unless additional support is in place. Lexi has been diagnosed with panosteitis (commonly known as "growing pains"), a condition seen in young, growing dogs. This is typically temporary and manageable, but her new owner will need to be mindful of her exercise levels and continue working with a veterinarian to ensure she stays comfortable as she matures. Lexi could live with a calm, confident cat who won't run, but she may chase if they do, so careful introductions and management would be essential. Lexi is looking for an experienced, active home-ideally someone familiar with her breed or similar high-drive dogs-who can continue to guide her training and channel her energy in a positive way. She would absolutely thrive in dog sports, advanced training, or with someone who is passionate about working with dogs. With the right person, Lexi will be an incredibly rewarding companion-smart, fun, and full of personality. If you're ready for a dog that will keep you on your toes in the best way, Lexi might just be your perfect match.
