About Smudge
Some cats spend their first years learning that people are reliable, that food arrives every day, and that home is a safe place to land.
Smudge had to learn something very different.
Still barely more than a kitten, Smudge somehow raised not one but two litters of kittens before she even turned two years old. Her son Bolt is available for adoption, and they would be happy as a pair in your new home: https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/1200310
Through all of it, she remained remarkably gentle.
Now, for the first time in her life, Smudge has the chance to stop surviving and simply be loved.
A little about Smudge:
🐾 Sweet, gentle and affectionate nature
🐾 Loves smooches and gentle attention from her people
🐾 Has the cutest little chirp when she wants to say hello
🐾 Good with children and enjoys calm company
🐾 Happy as an only cat or living alongside other cats
🐾 Looking for a peaceful home where she can finally relax
Smudge is not the sort of cat who demands attention.
Instead, she quietly appears beside you. A soft chirp. A gentle rub against your leg. A hopeful little look asking if there might be room beside you on the couch.
She is affectionate in the loveliest way: calm, genuine and full of trust.
After everything she has been through, Smudge still chooses people. She still seeks out affection. She still believes that humans can be kind.
That says a lot about her.
One of her favourite things is simply being near her people. Whether she's curled up beside you, following you from room to room, or stopping by for a quick smooch, she has a wonderful way of making a house feel like home.
Smudge has lived around other cats and would be perfectly happy sharing her home with feline friends. Equally, she would thrive as the centre of attention in a home all her own.
Dogs are a different story. Smudge prefers to admire them from a distance and would likely be happiest in a dog-free household.
Her second litter of kittens are also looking for homes. While they can be adopted separately, there is something rather special about the idea of welcoming a little family together. If you've ever thought three cats might be divine, this could be your moment. Check out Snowball and Bolt.
What Smudge wants most is beautifully simple.
A warm bed.
A full food bowl.
A person who loves her.
After spending the first years of her life raising babies and looking after herself, Smudge deserves a home where someone finally looks after her.
Picture this: a quiet evening on the couch, a soft chirp from beside you, and Smudge gently pressing her head into your hand for a smooch before settling down to nap.
For Smudge, that isn't just a nice evening.
It's the life she's been waiting for.
💛 Smudge has spent her life caring for others. Now she's ready to be cared for herself.

Adoption details
Our adoption process is flexible; we want our kittens to be in homes that meet their needs. We will ask you to either complete the application form (automatically sent) or ask to have a phone call chat.
We often make a call to potential adopters to chat through the application. We then organise a meet and greet if you and our kitten's needs match.
