Ari and Katerina are a beautiful brother and sister duo who share an unbreakable bond. Having been abandoned at the shelter, their past remains a mystery—but what we do know is that they have always had each other, and that connection is something truly special. Because of this, they must be adopted together.
These two are still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. Day by day, they are building trust with the people around them, showing small but meaningful signs of progress. They are very much a work in progress—but one that promises to be incredibly rewarding for the right home.
Ari is the braver of the pair, often leading the way when it comes to exploring. However, his confidence is closely tied to his sister—he likes to know where Katerina is and feels safest when she’s nearby. Katerina, in turn, finds comfort in Ari’s presence, and together they navigate life as a team.
Being young, they come with all the cheeky, mischievous traits of kittens—think climbing curtains, chewing things they shouldn’t, and getting into places they probably shouldn’t be! They are essentially toddlers in cat form, full of curiosity and energy, and will need a home that understands and embraces this stage of life.
Ari and Katerina are looking for a patient, experienced home that can give them the time, space, and understanding they need to truly come out of their shells. A quiet environment without children or dogs will suit them best, allowing them to build confidence at their own pace.
These two won’t be instant lap cats—but with time, kindness, and consistency, they have the potential to blossom into deeply bonded and loving companions.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
