About Bobby
Hello there! I'm Bobby, and I'm officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR BOBBY
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/H7wZz2r2m9x87zHq7
Please Note: You'll only be able to meet Bobby if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well.
My Ideal Home:
• Familiarity and understanding of my breed traits would be valued.
• I'll need daily exercise - walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors - not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I'd love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• Regular grooming and brushing will keep me looking and feeling my best.
• When I get excited, I can be a little bouncy and mouthy, so any children in the home would need to feel comfortable and confident around an energetic, enthusiastic dog joining the family, children over 5yrs old is recommended.
• Socialisation is just as important as training. Taking me to new places, introducing me to all sorts of people, dogs, and other animals will help me grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.
• Training, training, training - it's essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I mature.
• I prefer dogs around my own size and am not comfortable with much larger dogs, I will bark and pull towards them thinking I am much bigger and tougher than I am. I arrived at the shelter along with my brother Benny however we do not have to be adopted together.
• I was unsure around cats at the shelter and may become more inquisitive as my confidence grows. If I join a home with a cat, they'll need to be dog-savvy and introductions must be gradual and well managed.
My Paw-some Perks:
• I'm a very playful, happy pup with the cutest little wiggle-butt when I'm excited.
• I'm highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I'm quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I'm exuberant and full of beans, always ready for fun and adventure.
Training & Support Needs:
• I haven't had any formal training yet, so I'll need help with all my basic manners and life skills. The good news is I love food and toys, which will make positive training lots of fun and rewarding for me.
• I've only recently started learning to walk on lead at the shelter. I'm improving every day, but I can still be a little slow, erratic or fearful at times. With patience and regular walks, I'll soon gain confidence and enjoy my daily strolls.
• I can be a little bouncy/ Mouthy when excited, but consistent training will help me learn calmer behaviours.
• I can be nervous around other (Bigger) dogs and may react in a defensive manner. Controlled, positive socialisation experiences will help me build confidence and learn that other dogs aren't so scary.
• I may show some resource guarding around high value food/bones ect. I will trade happily for something higher in value, and with patience, consistency, and positive training, this is something we can continue to work through together but it would be best for me to be fed separately to other dogs.
