About Max - 3 Year Old Chihuahua X
Max is learning that the world can be kind đź’›
"I want to trust you... I just need a little time."
Max is a 3-year-old Chihuahua cross who never had the chance to learn that people, affection, and everyday life could be safe.
Born into a puppy farm, he spent his early years surrounded by other dogs with very little positive human contact. Because of this, the world can still feel overwhelming. When he's unsure, he'll bark. When he's frightened, he'll look for somewhere safe to hide.
But Max is trying.
Since coming into foster care with his male foster carer, he's slowly learning what it means to be loved. Beneath his worries is a sweet, affectionate little dog who forms deep bonds with the people he trusts. Once you earn your place in his heart, he'll want nothing more than to be close to you.
Max won't be the dog who rushes up to greet you on day one. The best things about him reveal themselves slowly. His future adopter will need patience, understanding, and the ability to celebrate the small wins that mean so much to a dog like Max.
🏡 Max is looking for:
• A calm, quiet home
• Someone patient and understanding
• No young children
• Experience with shy or fearful dogs preferred
• A gentle dog companion would be a bonus
Max is toilet trained and has already come so far. Now he just needs someone willing to give him the chance he never had before.
đź’› If you've ever wanted to change a dog's life, Max is waiting.
Max is currently in foster care in Swansea Heads, Lake Macquarie. His adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date with flea and worm treatments.
