About Sweeney
Meet Sweeney 🐾
Don't be fooled by Sweeney's impressive lion's mane of fur-behind that rugged, windswept look is an absolute sweetheart who just wants to be loved. This handsome staghound mix is all soft eyes, gentle energy, and a heart that beats for his people.
Sweeney is the definition of a velcro dog. His favourite place in the world? Right next to you. Whether you're relaxing on the couch, pottering around the house, or enjoying a quiet moment outdoors, he'll happily stick by your side like your most loyal shadow. He thrives on companionship and will flourish in a home where he can be included in daily life.
Despite his majestic, slightly wild appearance, Sweeney is a calm and affectionate soul. He loves a good cuddle, leans into pats with his whole body, and will gently remind you when it's time for more attention. He has a sensitive, loving nature and bonds deeply with his humans.
Sweeney would suit someone who appreciates a devoted companion and has the time to share their days with him. He doesn't just want a home-he wants a best friend.
Why you'll love Sweeney:

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
