Hi, I'm Yuki!

I'm a 9 month old Kelpie with a big heart, a busy brain, and enough energy to make every day an adventure!

If you're familiar with working breeds, you'll know that dogs like me love having a job to do. Whether that's chasing a ball, learning new tricks, solving food puzzles, going on hikes, or playing training games, I'm happiest when my mind and body are working together.

Speaking of balls... have I mentioned I LOVE fetch? If you've got a ball and an arm willing to throw it, we'll be best friends in no time. Watching me sprint after a ball is one of my favourite ways to show off my Kelpie skills!

I'm looking for a home with experienced owners who understand working breeds with high drive and high eneregy and can provide appropriate outlets for all my enthusiasm. I'll need plenty of exercise, training, and enrichment to help me be the best version of myself. The good news is that I'm smart, eager to learn, and love working with my people.

I'm still a teenager, so there are a few things I'd like help with. Sometimes I get so excited that I forget my manners and my paws leave the ground! My new family will need to continue teaching me that four paws on the floor gets me all the good things. I can also be a little exit-focused because the world is full of exciting things to explore, so I'll need thoughtful management around doors and gates.

Impulse control is another skill I'm continuing to develop, and I'd love a family who enjoys training and can help me build on what I've already learned. I respond best to force-free, reward-based training that makes learning fun and helps me feel successful.

When I'm not zooming around or chasing a ball, I have a softer side too. I absolutely adore people and love a good cuddle. After a day of adventures, I'm more than happy to curl up next to my favourite humans for some affection and relaxation.

I may be able to live with another dog, depending on whether we're a good match, and I'd be best suited to a home with secondary school-aged children who can understand my energetic nature and join in on my training journey.

My dream home has plenty of opportunities for enrichment, lots of positive training, and people who appreciate just how fun, clever, and rewarding a young Kelpie can be.

So, if you're looking for a loyal sidekick, fetch champion, cuddle enthusiast, and adventure partner all rolled into one, I think we should meet!
