If you're looking for a loving little companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Woody may be the perfect match.
This gorgeous little boy was found wandering and, sadly, nobody came forward to claim him. Despite whatever uncertainty he has experienced in his young life, Woody has remained a happy, affectionate and trusting dog who absolutely adores people.
Woody appears to be a West Highland Terrier mix, according to our vet. Based on his soft curly cream and gold coat, we think he's mixed with Miniature Poodle, possibly with apricot Poodle influence. Whatever his exact recipe, he is a solid little companion dog with a sweet nature, curly charm and plenty of personality.
Woody is very much a lap dog. He loves pats, cuddles and being close to his humans. He would happily spend his evenings curled up beside you on the couch and, if allowed, would be equally happy sharing your bed at night.
His foster carer describes him as very loving, very obedient and a pleasure to have around. Woody is house-trained and reliably goes outside to toilet. He travels well in the car and gets along nicely with other small dogs. He has not had any interaction with larger dogs, so introductions to bigger canine companions should be undertaken thoughtfully. He has had no exposure to cats.
Woody is a confident little character who enjoys having a chat. He is quite vocal, not in a barking way, but likes to express his opinions, whether he's greeting you, seeking attention or simply joining in family conversations. Anyone who appreciates a dog with personality will find Woody endlessly entertaining.
Woody is still settling in, so we are continuing to get to know his leash skills. He may benefit from some gentle lead training, but he is obedient, eager to please and responds well to kind, consistent guidance.
Woody is looking for something he may never have had before — stability, predictability and a family who will love him forever. In return, he will reward that family with affection, companionship and loyalty.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
