About Marli Dumont
TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION PLEASE SEND IN APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE BELOW:
https://www.victoriandogrescue.org.au/adopt/
Marli Dumont may be eleven years old, but no one has told him that he's meant to be slowing down! He's looking for a forever home with no cats or other dogs and where his new person can give him lots of pats (there is no such thing as too many pats for Marli).
Marli is a bright spark, who loves walks, dinner, treats, travelling in the car, did we say he liked dinner?, but above all he loves pats and snuggling up with his human. He will cuddle up next to you on the sofa with his cheek on your lap, or quietly at your feet. Just as long as he can be with you and get pats. You'd never guess his age, because he's energetic and bouncy, and shows no signs of slowing down. He's even learning new commands. He can now do 'sit' and 'bed', is house trained and bowls through the dog door like he's been doing it all his life. A walk on a lead around the streets with plenty of sniffing time is his idea of heaven.
He is currently learning recall (he has very little!), working on desensitisation to other dogs (improving, but not yet perfect) and once he's settled in his forever home his mild anxiety may well reduce.
He is coming out of his shell as a cheeky little chappie who will make you laugh, even as he's stealing your biscuit!

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Commonly asked questions and their answers are provided when you email us. We look forward to receiving your application.
