💙 Adonis – Still Waiting for Someone to Choose Him 💙
For more than two long months, Adonis has watched the world go by from behind the walls of a Sydney pound.
Day after day, he has waited. Waited for a kind face, a gentle touch, a second chance. Waited for someone to see beyond the kennel door and recognise the beautiful soul that has so much love left to give.
Despite being abandoned and finding himself alone in a place where no dog should spend so much of his life, Adonis has remained incredibly gentle and loving.
Adonis needs a home with a social dog of similar size and energy level. He adores the company of other dogs his size and has recently formed a special friendship with a beautiful female German Shepherd named Sookie and another male German Shepherd called Teddy. Watching them together is a reminder of how much Adonis enjoys companionship and connection.
This sweet boy isn't asking for much.
A soft bed.
A family to call his own.
A gentle belly scratch.
A cuddle on the couch.
A four legged fur friend of similar size.
Someone to tell him he's a good boy and truly mean it.
Adonis absolutely melts when shown affection. He leans into you for reassurance, soaking up every kind word and gentle touch as though he's been waiting his whole life to hear them. More than anything, he wants to belong.
He wants the security of knowing that when he falls asleep at night, he'll wake up in the same loving home. He wants a family who will treasure him through all of life's ups and downs. A family who will never abandon him again. Adonis loves cuddles at night time on his warm bed,he is not destructive and is learning how to play with toys, thanks to Teddy.
Because somewhere out there is a family looking for a loyal best friend, and Adonis has been patiently waiting to become exactly that. ❤️

Adonis is looking for an experienced German Shepherd owner who will place structure in his life and maintain boundaries to help him develop confidence in his new environment with human interactions.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long and is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Adonis is currently available for adoption in NSW, ACT, Queensland and Victoria. If you're interested in making him a cherished member of your family, you'll need to drive with your loved ones to meet him. Should he, for any reason, not be the perfect fit for your family, you would be responsible for either bringing him back to Sydney or helping us rehome him from your home.

Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
Post Adoption Life: With all dog it is important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these dogs have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours and reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to three months to properly decompress from post-shelter life and a lot of behaviours and quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind and are patient.
