About Bean
Bean is a desexed female Domestic Long Hair available for adoption in Kangaroo Point (Brisbane, QLD).
Bean is a calm, cheeky little cat with a soft spot for the people she loves and a real knack for making a home feel lived-in. She's low-maintenance in the way that counts: happy at home, easy company, and always up for a cuddle when the day winds down.
Once she knows you, she's all in. Bean is loving and outgoing with her people, and she has a way of choosing you as her own that feels genuinely rewarding.
A little about Bean:
🐾 Announces bedtime by climbing onto your chest and settling in
🐾 Grew up beside a Labradoodle and holds her own with confidence
🐾 A laser dot brings out her full playful streak
🐾 Watches birds from the window with quiet focus
🐾 Rubs against your legs for hours when she's in the mood for closeness
Bean's days follow a comfortable shape. Mornings and afternoons are for lounging around home, often near her canine housemate, keeping half an eye on whatever's moving outside the window.
Come evening, the playful side comes out. A quick laser session, dinner, then her favourite ritual of all: finding the nearest human chest and settling in for the night.
When Bean is on, she is really on. She'll rub against your legs for hours, follow you between rooms, and park herself on you the moment you sit down.
New people get a considered welcome. She'll take herself off somewhere quiet at first, then come out to inspect once the room has softened. A patient hand and a soft voice are all she needs to decide you're one of hers.
Bean would love a calm household with someone home for most of the day. She's an indoor cat through and through, and she does beautifully alongside a friendly dog, though she'd equally enjoy being the only pet with plenty of laps to choose from.
Bean has a specific litter she likes, and her new guardian will be set up with the details so nothing changes for her at home. Paired with her Hill's Urinary Care prescription diet, her routine is settled and easy to maintain.
Picture a slow Sunday morning: Bean stretched out in a warm patch of sun near the window, one ear tuned to a bird call outside. Later, a laser dot skitters across the floor and she pounces after it, tail flicking. By nightfall, she's on your chest, purring you into sleep.
Bean is looking for the kind of household she can settle into and quietly run. A calm home, a favourite chest to claim, and someone who'll appreciate her chest-sitting brand of affection.
FAQ
Does Bean get on with dogs?
Yes, wonderfully. She's grown up alongside a Labradoodle and they play together happily, so a calm family dog is a great fit if that's your setup.
How does Bean take to new people?
Once she's decided you're one of hers, she's all in with cuddles and company. Give her a little space to come to you at first, and you'll get the full affectionate version.
Is her prescription diet hard to keep up with?
Not at all. Hill's Urinary Care is widely available through vets and major pet retailers.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
The rescue group is no longer taking adoption applications for this pet.
