Caraway is only one year old, but life hasn't been kind to him. Having spent his early life surviving on the streets, the shelter is an overwhelming place for a shy boy like him.

When you meet Caraway, you'll probably see a cat hiding away, unsure of the world around him. He isn't going to walk up for pats or demand attention. He will need a quiet home, a small room to start in, and people who understand that trust takes time to build. But behind those worried eyes is an incredibly gentle, sweet soul who simply hasn't had the chance to learn that people can be safe.

The reality is that cats like Caraway are the ones so often left behind. They aren't loud, outgoing or instantly affectionate, and many shelters simply don't have the luxury of waiting months for them to come out of their shell.

We refuse to give up on him, but he needs someone to give him the opportunity we can't provide in a shelter. By adopting Caraway, you won't just be giving a shy cat a home. You will be saving his life.

He needs someone willing to look past the fear and see the cat he could become with patience, kindness and time. The first few weeks may be slow, and the first cuddle might take months, but when a cat like Caraway finally chooses to trust you, it's something truly special.
