Some kittens find their way to us in the most unexpected ways... and Duke and Dixie's story is certainly one of them. ❤️
These brave little siblings were discovered hiding in the undertray of a car after it had travelled more than 30 minutes from its starting point. Somehow, they managed to hold on for the entire journey. It was only when the car arrived at its destination that they were found. 💔
Thankfully, the kind-hearted person who discovered them knew they needed help and contacted one of our rescuers straight away.
Since then, Duke and Dixie have traded car undertrays for comfy beds, toys and plenty of love. 🥹💕
Despite their rough start, they have grown into incredibly sweet, affectionate and playful kittens. They are curious about the world, confident in new situations and absolutely love a cuddle after a busy play session. 🐾✨
Most importantly, Duke and Dixie share a very special bond. They have been through everything together and take comfort in each other's company, so they are looking for a forever home where they can stay together. 💛

Adopting with Kittie Kat Rescue Inc.
Bringing a new pet into your home is a long-term commitment—both emotionally and financially. Cats can live 15 to 20 years, so it's essential that all family members are prepared to provide love, shelter, and a safe environment for their lifetime. This includes premium nutrition, regular veterinary care, and ensuring they are kept indoors only or have access to a secure, cat-proof outdoor enclosure.
Our Adoption Process:
-Initial Contact & Questionnaire. We’ll start by sending you our adoption questionnaire via email or text message. This helps us understand your home environment and what you're looking for in a feline companion.
-Video Tour. We will require a video tour of your home, focusing on safety features such as secure screens on windows, doors and balconies. Plus, we’d love to see where your new kitty will be set up in their new home!
-Meet & Greet with the Foster Carer. Once your application is complete and approved, we’ll arrange a time for you to meet the cat with their foster carer.
-Adoption & Bringing Your Cat Home. In some cases, if your application is approved and the cat has completed all their vet work, they can go home with you straight after the meet and greet (an adoption fee is payable). Adoption paperwork will follow.
-Settling-In Period & Adoption Finalisation. Every adoption includes a two-week settling-in period from the time of adoption. If, for any reason, your new cat isn’t the right fit for your home, you can return them within this period for a 50% refund of the adoption fee.
-All of our cats come microchipped, desexed, with one or more vaccinations, and will be lifetime registered. Depending on their age, kittens may need their second (and potentially third) vaccination undertaken by the adopter after adoption. The transfer of ownership is completed as soon as possible.
Adoption fees:
-Kittens: $350
-Cats 1 - 3 Years: $275
-Cats 3 Years+: $200
All adoptions will also carry a lifetime registration/admin fee of $50 on top of the above adoption price.
