About Kingston
Kingston is a handsome young Aussie Shepherd x Border Collie with a big personality, an active mind, and endless enthusiasm for life. He is an intelligent, eager-to-please boy who thrives when given a job to do and would love a family that can keep up with his energy and zest for adventure.
As a working-breed mix, Kingston will need an active home with a secure backyard and people who enjoy walking, training, hiking, or other outdoor activities. He requires plenty of daily physical exercise and mental stimulation to help him be the best version of himself. Once he’s had a chance to burn off his energy, Kingston is more than happy to curl up for cuddles and enjoy some downtime with his people.
One thing Kingston loves almost as much as attention is food! He is incredibly food motivated, making him a fantastic candidate for ongoing training. He is still very much a young dog who is learning about the world, so his new family must be committed to continuing his training, providing structure, and helping him develop into a well-rounded adult dog.
Dog Compatibility:
Kingston would be best suited to a home with large-breed dog experience. Due to his personality and energy levels, he is not suited to living with small dogs. Ideally, Kingston would love to be the only dog in the home where he can soak up all of the attention and affection for himself.
Cat Compatibility:
Kingston has been exposed to cats, however he does have a tendency to chase and “round up” animals due to his herding instincts and can occasionally be reactive. For this reason, a cat-free home would be the safest and most suitable option.
Crate Training:
Kingston is crate trained and currently sleeps in his crate overnight. His crate is covered at bedtime and has formed part of his ongoing training program.
Children:
Kingston has only had regular exposure to teenagers and older children. As his behaviour around younger children is unknown, we recommend a home with dog-savvy children aged 12 years and over.
Kingston is looking for a family who understands the needs of intelligent working breeds and is prepared to invest the time and commitment he deserves. In return, you’ll gain a loyal, affectionate, and fun-loving companion who is always ready for his next adventure

Adoption details
In the ENQUIRY SECTION please explain in LENGTH some basics about yourself/ your life/ your household and what type of life you can provide for one of our rescue animals.
If successful, you would be contacted by phone, where we will talk about your enquiry and potentially organise a meet and greet between you/ your dogs/ your family and the potential candidate
From there, you can either take your animal with you if the meet and greet was successful and their vet work has been completed- or if the vet work hasn't been completed, you must wait until it's finished before taking your new friend home which will be organised between yourself and the foster carer.
Every animal has a 2 week trial period.
