Meet Arlo 🐾

**Please do not apply if you have another dog. Arlo must go to a home where he will be the only dog. He is fine with other dogs out & about but he resource guards everything to other dogs in his household.**

🐶 Personality:
Arlo is a beautiful 3.5-year-old wheaten/lilac merle Border Collie with a gentle, affectionate nature and a heart full of love. Affectionately known as the "hotel hound," his favourite place is wherever his people are. Whether you're working from home or enjoying a quiet weekend, Arlo will happily settle at your feet, keep you company around the house, and be your loyal shadow throughout the day. Unlike many Border Collies, Arlo isn't obsessed with chasing balls or playing fetch. Instead, he's highly food motivated and loves enrichment activities, treat puzzles, and a good bone to chew on. He's a clever boy who always knows when meal time is approaching and won't hesitate to remind you if breakfast or dinner is running behind schedule.

Arlo is a sensitive soul with a sweet temperament. Unexpected loud noises, such as a gate slamming, can startle him, but he recovers well with reassurance from his people. He thrives on gentle affection and loves being included in family life.
In his current home, Arlo lives alongside rabbits, which he shows no interest in, demonstrating a calm and respectful nature around them. When it's time for adventure, Arlo is in his element. He loves visiting the park, enjoys swimming at the beach, and is fantastic off lead. His recall is excellent, especially when treats are involved. He also travels beautifully in the car and has happily joined his family on long camping road trips. Arlo is friendly and well-mannered with other dogs when out and about, but he needs to be the only dog in the home where he can fully relax and enjoy having his people all to himself.

🎓 Training & Care:
Arlo is a smart and eager learner who has recently graduated into an advanced obedience training course to continue building on his excellent manners. He is off-lead trained, responsive, and enjoys learning, particularly when food rewards are involved. His strong food motivation makes training easy and enjoyable, and he responds beautifully to positive reinforcement. He also loves food-based enrichment activities that keep his mind engaged. Arlo is easy to handle for routine grooming and happily tolerates being brushed and having his nails trimmed at home. All of his vaccinations, worming, and health checks are up to date, and he has no known health conditions.

🏠 Perfect Home:
Arlo is looking for a loving home that can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, and plenty of companionship. He would suit a family, couple, or individual who wants a loyal companion involved in everyday life. While he enjoys relaxing at home and is not destructive, he still needs the exercise and engagement expected of a Border Collie. He would particularly enjoy a home that includes walks, beach trips, camping adventures, or simply having someone around to share life's daily moments with.
Arlo needs to be the only dog in his home but would otherwise fit well into many different households. With his affectionate nature, excellent manners, and loving personality, he is ready for his next chapter with a family who can give him the love, stability, and time he deserves. Arlo is accustomed to sleeping outside overnight and travels exceptionally well.
