Charlie is a young Springer Spaniel Greyhound mix with a friendly nature, excellent health, and plenty of energy. He is active, athletic, and loves to run and play. He is fully vaccinated, desexed, and up to date with all routine veterinary care.

Charlie is generally well behaved and has received basic training. He responds reliably to commands such as sit, stay, down, come, shake, and break. He walks well on a lead and is eager to please when not distracted.

He has been raised around older children and is comfortable with them. While he has not had significant experience with younger children, we believe he would likely adapt well with appropriate introductions and supervision.

Charlie currently lives primarily as an outside dog but spends evenings indoors with the family. He understands household boundaries and is house trained in this supervised setting. However, he has not been fully trained for unsupervised indoor living and may require further training if his new home intends to keep him inside full-time.

He has some experience with crate use and travels well in a crate. He has also slept comfortably in a crate when away from home, although he has not undergone full crate training.

One of Charlie’s best qualities is that he is not destructive. He does not dig holes, chew excessively, or attempt to escape. He can be left outside during the day without issue and has never tried to dig under or jump over our fencing, including sections that are only 1.2 metres high.

Charlie absolutely loves other dogs. His strongest motivation is play, and he would happily spend hours running and playing with canine companions. While he is not aggressive, his enthusiasm for other dogs can sometimes override his training and recall. As a result, he would thrive in a home with another friendly, active dog and enough space to exercise regularly.

Being part Greyhound, Charlie is exceptionally fast and enjoys running at every opportunity. We believe his ideal home would have a large, secure yard and a companion dog with a similar energy level. Unfortunately, our current yard does not provide the space he would like, and we are unable to take him to the dog park as often as he enjoys. We feel that he would benefit greatly from a home that can offer more opportunities for exercise, enrichment, and companionship.

Charlie has shown some prey drive in the past, however, there have been no incidents of this nature for at least six months. Prospective adopters should still be aware of his hunting instincts, particularly around small animals.

Charlie is a loving, healthy, and energetic young dog looking for a home where he can enjoy plenty of exercise, companionship, and opportunities to play. In the right environment, he will make a wonderful and loyal companion.

This is an assisted rehoming which means that Animals In Need Brisbane (AINB) will advertise, contact applicants and pass on applications that meet the the criteria to the owner who will make the final decision on the rehoming of the animal. AINB may also be requested to undertake an inspection of the successful applicants property to confirm safety and suitability.

There is no adoption fee for assisted rehomings but we do ask for a donation (amount of their choosing) from the successful applicant  to AINB,  in recognition of the administrative and time costs incurred..
