Hi, I'm Walter!

I'm a 6 year old Wire Hair Terrier with a big personality, a fantastic nose, and a love for life's little adventures.

Now, I may be blind, but don't let that fool you - I still love getting out for walks and exploring the world around me! While I can't see where I'm going, I make up for it with my incredible sniffing skills. Every walk is an exciting treasure hunt filled with new scents, interesting sounds, and plenty of opportunities to investigate.

Because I can't see where I'm going, I sometimes bump into things that sneak into my path, and every now and then I might lose my bearings. That's where my future family comes in! I'll appreciate a gentle guide who can help redirect me and point me in the right direction when I'm out on my sniffing expeditions. Think of us as the ultimate adventure team - you handle the navigation, and I'll handle the detective work!

I'm looking for a home with secondary school aged children who can understand that I need a little extra patience and support. I may also be able to live with another dog, provided they're a calm, gentle friend who will respect my space and won't mind sharing their home with a mature gentleman like me.

While I'm a sweet boy, I can be a little unsure about handling and putting on my harness. Because of this, I'll thrive with patient adopters who are happy to build my confidence gradually and make these experiences positive and rewarding. New people, environments, and dogs can sometimes be a bit overwhelming, but with gradual introductions, kindness, and plenty of encouragement, I continue to grow more comfortable and confident.

I'll thrive with a family committed to force free training and positive reinforcement. The more patient and supportive you are, the more my sweet, adventurous personality shines through.

What do I bring to the table? Endless curiosity, plenty of companionship, and a reminder that life's best moments are often found by slowing down and appreciating the little things, especially if they smell interesting!
