·       Black & Tan, Short Hair female Dachshund who is approx. 4 years old weighing a chubby 11.2kg but down to 10kg with diet and exercise!
About Bonnie
Bonnie is an intelligent, cheeky dachshund who combines independence with affection on her terms. Loves to sunbake and watch the world go by. Bonnie can be timid with new people but once she is comfortable with her surroundings she will make a delightful companion also Bonnie travels well in the car.
Personality Highlights
Bonnie responds instantly to her name, and is a quick leaner where is has learnt to use the doggie door but this is limited due to her weight. While Bonnie can be independent and enjoys exploring the yard on her own, she also loves snuggling on the couch and sleeping in bed with her humans where she often likes to burrow under the blankets. Bonnie also selects her soft toys that she would like to play with from the toy box. House training is still on going but this will get easier for her once she has reached her goal weight.
Current Training Progress
·       House Training: Bonnie reliably uses the yard during daytime hours. Still needs some support with nighttime routines and uses doggie pee pads.
Lead Skills: walk well on the lead and is good on car rides.
·       Social Skills: Making steady progress in meeting new people. Initially cautious but warms up with patience.
Daily Care
·       Diet: Royal Canin, weight control for small breeds.
Exercise: Has not shown any interest in playing
Sleep: Settles well through the night when sleeping with family
·       Behaviour: No food or toy aggression, untested with children and cats
