Meet Junior – a big-hearted, scruffy-faced Wolfhound cross puppy with oversized paws, a goofy personality, and enough love to share with everyone he meets! 🥰

Recently surrendered into pound care, Junior is now looking for a family who understands that while his puppy cuteness is impossible to resist, he's going to grow into a very large dog and deserves a lifetime commitment. ❤️

At just 5–6 months old and already tipping the scales at 28kg, Junior is expected to become a large-sized adult. Because of this, we're looking for adopters who have experience with large breeds or who are committed to learning about the needs of giant dogs as he grows.

🐶 A BIG PUPPY IN EVERY WAY

Junior absolutely loves people and greets the world with enthusiasm! Like many young pups, he can still jump up when excited and is learning that not everyone appreciates 28kg of puppy affection launching at them. 😆

He has had very little training before arriving at the pound, but the good news is he's still young, eager to please, and incredibly food motivated. 🍖 This handsome boy has all the potential in the world with a family willing to invest time into training, socialisation, and helping him become a well-mannered adult.

🎓 Puppy school is highly recommended, and ongoing training will help him grow into the amazing companion we know he can be.

🚶‍♂️ Training & Exercise

Junior is still working on his lead manners and general puppy etiquette. While he has a wonderfully gentle nature, he's a big, strong youngster who will need continued guidance as he matures.

He has that classic Wolfhound personality—a lovely mix of playful puppy energy and occasional "I'll just have a nap instead" laziness. 😂

🐕 Dog Friendly

Junior adores other dogs and would be happy living with a friendly, desexed female dog. Meet and greets will be conducted at the pound with desexed female dogs only.

🚫 Junior will not be rehomed into a home with male dogs.

Due to his size and puppy enthusiasm, he is also best suited to homes without very small dogs.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Children

Junior has not previously lived with children. However, as a young puppy with a gentle temperament, he may be suitable for dog-savvy children who understand how to interact respectfully with large dogs. Any family adopting Junior must be committed to ongoing training to ensure he grows into a polite giant.

🐱 Cats

Junior has not been cat tested and has never lived with cats. While he has a sweet nature, puppies often find cats very exciting, so we are currently seeking a dog-only home for him.

Please note: Junior will require a booster vaccination approximately one month after his pound vaccination. This cost will be the responsibility of the adopter.
