After unloading the dogs, we spotted this beautiful girl sitting quietly in her crate, patiently waiting her turn to meet her carer. There was just one little problem… we didn’t have a carer lined up for her — she was one of our unexpected stowaways.
No problem though, because our wonderful foster carer Dawn stepped in and welcomed her, giving her the perfect name: Poppy 🌸
Poppy is an incredibly loving girl who adores being close to her people. She’s very much a Velcro dog and happiest curled up beside you (or on you!) soaking up cuddles on the couch. She has met children and has been wonderful
She’s friendly with other dogs and enjoys her walks, although she’s still learning her manners. If she meets another dog and they walk away, she gets so excited she can’t help bouncing around because she just wants to keep playing.
She is still very much a puppy, so you’ll need eyes in the back of your head — remotes, pens, slippers, even books can quickly become targets for a cheeky nibble.
Poppy sleeps well and while the crate isn’t exactly her favourite place, she settles quickly after a little whimper.
Toilet training is coming along nicely, but like any pup she’ll need continued guidance as she learns the routine in her forever home.
As with all dogs, we do recommend training to help her be her best self.
