Mariah is a sweet girl absolutely brimming with affection and love. She adores her humans and will snuggle you like it's her full time job, bringing along her enthusiastic purr motor for the ultimate therapeutic experience.
Mariah came into care as a shy, timid kitten, but she has truly blossomed into a cuddly, loving lap cat. Although she spent much of her early life on her own, she has shown wonderful curiosity and growing confidence with her foster sisters, always eager to connect and join in the fun.
At home, Mariah loves being wherever her people are. Bedtime cuddles are one of her favourite things, and she'll often choose to sleep curled up near your chest or neck. When she's not busy snuggling, you'll find her entertaining herself with crinkle balls, springs, tunnels, cardboard boxes, and even the occasional rogue tissue.
Mariah has impeccable litter habits and a healthy appetite, happily enjoying her meals without any fuss.
Mariah is still learning that hands aren't toys and may occasionally use her teeth or claws during play. Her carers have been gently working with her on this, and she's already making fantastic progress. We're teaching her to save teeth and claws for her toys rather than human skin, and she's picking up the lesson quickly.
Because of this, Mariah would be best suited to a home with children aged 5 years and over who can understand her body language and respect her boundaries when she needs a little space. In her foster home, she shares her days with two rambunctious boys (aged 4 and 8) and generally copes very well with family life. She happily welcomes gentle pats and playtime, provided interactions are calm and respectful.
Mariah is looking for a patient and understanding family who can appreciate that big changes can feel overwhelming and who will give her the time she needs to settle in. Once she feels safe, her loving personality shines through beautifully.
As Mariah is flourishing so well in foster care with a feline companion, Mariah will need to be adopted into a home with a friendly resident cat or be adopted alongside another kitten to support her ongoing social and emotional development.

Please email us at adoptions@heartandsoulrescue.com.au if you are interested in adopting one of our precious souls, and we will send you our Adoption Application Form 💛
Once we have received your completed application, we will contact you to discuss suitability. If we feel one of our cats or kittens may be the right match for you, we will then arrange either a home visit or request a short walk-through video of your home.
If all goes well, we offer a 2-week trial period to ensure your new cat or kitten is the right fit for your family 🐾
Conditions apply. Heart & Soul Rescue reserves the right to decline a full refund if recommendations and care requirements regarding your adopted cat or kitten have not been followed during the 2 week trial period. A 25% administration fee applies if a cat or kitten is returned during that time.
Heart & Soul Rescue is a volunteer-run, non-profit charity. We receive no government funding and rely entirely on donations and fundraising to cover our vet and rescue costs.
