About Maggie
lease only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- Children over 8 years
- Would be fine with full-time workers, provided Maggie gets her "sniffari walk" every day
Maggie, affectionately known as Maggie Muckduck, is a delightful homebody who absolutely loves pats more than life itself!
She also adores spending time on her bed, making her the perfect TV/crochet companion and a perfect housemate for people who are out of the home 8 hours a day and are looking for a companion who is not too excitable and jumpy on arrival. There is a serious chance she will be roaching in the exact same position when you return to her lair, staring patiently at you until pats are delivered.
She is not highly food motivated and may not (let’s say definitely not) jump to attention when you merely call her name, but if she hears the jingle of a lead, she will be up quicker than you can say ‘walkies’. Once out walking, she will then proceed to cos-play a highly thorough detective, sniffing for clues, literally often for minutes at a time, as she conquers every square inch of a 500m radius of your home.
That being said, she is very cautious around other dogs and is a big, shy girl when it comes to meeting them, often crossing the road to avoid social contact, like a Redditor. There has been some recent success in this space with her meeting two local greyhounds and trading some very polite but low-energy bum sniffs, but she might need some human confidence and consistency to continue breaking down these walls.
Maggie is, how do I say this, an absolute menace when it comes to eye contact, and she will often stare at her most recent pat dealer for extended periods of time, which is both insanely cute and quite tactical on her part.
Maggie has no experience with children but due to her chill demeanour and complete lack of ‘jumping on you’ level exuberance, she may do very well in this space (with over 8yo's) as long as requisite pats are administered.
Is Maggie the perfect companion for your home?
