About Snoopy
Hello there! I’m Snoopy, and I’m officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR Snoopy
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM

My Ideal Home:
• I am extremely terrified of the world! I will need a very special family/owner who has the time & patience to allow me to settle at my own pace and help me to discover that the world is not such a scary place! I have been in a foster home for the past 2 weeks and have only just started to approach them (as long as their dog was with me) to take a piece of food out of their hand, so its definitely going to be a long road of trust, love & rehabilitation for my new family. Despite my level of fear I have never shown signs of aggression.
• I MUST go to a home with another dog! I absolutely LOVE other dogs. They help to bring me out of my shell and i look to the for direction & guidance. The happiest the staff at the shelter have seen me is when i am with another dog
• It is not recommended that i leave the house/yard until I am settled & bonded with my family, once i am i would love walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors — not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing with no holes or gaps is essential to keep me safe.
• I’d love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• A good-quality dry food diet will help support my dental health.
• Regular grooming and brushing will keep me looking and feeling my best.
• Most importantly, I’m looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• Because I am extremely fearful I am not suited to a home with young children.
• Because I have had a very sheltered start and can be very shy & shutdown in new situations, continued socialisation (once i am settled into my home) will really help build my confidence.
• With a slow and thoughtful introduction, I may be able to live with a dog friendly cat.
Training & Support Needs:
• I can feel anxious when left alone in the backyard and may become vocal (barking or whining) & destructive. A home where I can spend plenty of time indoors, have lots of company (another reason why another dog for company is needed), and be provided with enrichment toys or treats when alone would suit me best.
• I am extremely timid. I’ll need a patient family who will allow me indoors, move at my pace, and gently build my confidence through ongoing socialisation. My new family must also understand that even when I have settled at home i will more than likely always be fearful around unfamiliar environments & people.
Please Note: You’ll only be able to meet Snoopy if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
