About Cook
Meet Cook 🤎💛
Cook is a small boy with a very big personality. His number one enemy in life is a closed door. If he can’t get to you, you can be sure he’ll make his feelings known -Cook has the loudest little meow and absolutely no hesitation about using it to demand attention.
And attention is very important to Cook.
Wherever you are, that’s where Cook wants to be. He has absolutely no concept of personal space and believes the best way to receive pats is to enthusiastically rub himself all over your face - particularly your nose. He’s your little shadow, following you from room to room and making sure he’s involved in whatever you’re doing. This has occasionally resulted in some questionable decisions, such as jumping into the bath with you or getting far too interested in whatever you’re cooking.
Food is another one of Cook’s great passions. He is extremely enthusiastic about eating and with a sensitive stomach, he needs a home where someone can keep a close eye on what he gets his paws on. Human food and other animals’ meals are particularly tempting to this little foodie!
When it comes to playtime, Cook approaches it like a clumsy tornado. He throws himself into the action with enthusiasm and no where is off limits when he has the zoomies. He loves to play, wrestle and generally cause a bit of mayhem. He's still learning that playtime is not a 24/7 activity and has been known to wrestle your head at 2am.
Despite all that chaos, Cook has a wonderfully affectionate and sweet side. When the day’s adventures are finally over, he sleeps with just as much enthusiasm as he does everything else, often accompanied by the cutest little snores.
Cook's ideal home would have a feline companion, who enjoys an energetic wrestling match and plenty of play.
If you're looking for an affectionate, hilarious, slightly chaotic little shadow who will keep you laughing, supervise everything you do, and snore beside you after a long day of adventures, Cook is your cat 🐱
Cook is:
🐈 Cat friendly
🐕 Dog friendly (not currently living with a dog but did when he was a young kitten)
🏠 Indoor only
🚽 Litter trained
Medical notes
Cook has a known food sensitivity and requires a specialised diet. Currently he is managed well on Barramundi and Tuna with Freeze Dried Lamb Dry Kitten Food. Once he is fully-grown he will likely need to be moved to a prescription food sensitivity diet such as Hill’s Z/D (or equivalent as advised by your veterinarian), as introducing other foods may cause diarrhea. By adopting Cook, you understand that you will be responsible for the costs of all future veterinary care and management required for this, including treatment related to this condition.
Adoption details
All animals adopted through Out of the Woods Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated and health-checked. We aim to match each animal with a home that suits their needs and personality.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Submit an application – This helps us get to know you, your household and what you're looking for in a pet.
Phone chat – If your application looks like a potential fit, one of our team members will contact you for a casual phone conversation to answer questions and discuss the animal in more detail.
Meet and greet – You’ll meet the animal in their foster home or another agreed location. If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we can proceed to adoption.
Adoption paperwork and payment – Our adoption fees cover desexing, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment.
Once adopted, the animal becomes part of your family. We're still here for post-adoption support if you ever need any help.
We’re committed to ethical adoptions and reserve the right to decline applications if we feel the match isn’t in the best interest of the animal.
