Buddy Celestino AKA Teddy is friendly and very people-oriented. He loves attention and enjoys interacting with both people and other dogs.
Buddy is a strong dog with a lot of enthusiasm for life. He can become overly excited at times around food, doors, visitors or other dogs but responds well to cues and correction.
He is not fearful or aggressive and greets everyone with a full bum wag. He is the happiest of boys. He loves soft toys but not balls. He can be naughty and steal things he shouldn't but is so cheeky it's hard to be angry with him. He is learning new skills like impulse control.
In the home, Buddy does best with structure and supervision. He needs help learning boundaries around food, bins and doorways as he can be opportunistic when things are left within reach. Already he has learnt to sit and wait whilst his food bowl is put down, to wait at road crossings whilst out walking and that he is not allowed on the loungeroom couch. He's improving on barging through doors. He just doesnt appreciate his size.
With other dogs, Buddy is very socialable but at times is unsure of his status and may try to mount the other dog for dominance. But he responds well to correction, both human and doggy, and settles quickly. He has spent most of his life living with another dog, so he would enjoy this situation again.
Buddy's behaviour around people is very friendly. He greets everyone with enthusiasm and warmth. Because of his size and excitement he can be a bit much for younger children so a home with adults or 12yo+ children would suit him best.
Overall, Buddy is an adorable, loving, engaging dog with a lot of potential. With clear structure, consistent training and an experienced, calm handler he will continue to improve and thrive in his forever home. He just wants to be loved and he deserves it.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
