Archie is a gorgeous little Mini Dachshund puppy, full of promise and ready to grow into a much-loved family companion.
Born on 21 April 2026, Archie weighed 1.85 kgs when he received his first puppy vaccination on 3 June. As a young puppy, he will need to complete his full course of three puppy vaccinations before he is considered fully protected in public places.
Archie is at a lovely age to begin life with his new family. He will need all the usual puppy guidance — kind training, gentle socialisation, consistency, patience and plenty of time with his people.
Mini Dachshunds may be small in size, but they are known for their confidence, cleverness and big personalities. Archie’s new family should be ready for a bright, curious little dog who will want to be part of daily family life.
Archie will need an indoor home where he is treated as a true companion, not a backyard dog. He is still a baby and will need company, supervision and help learning the routines of his new home.
As with all Dachshunds, care will need to be taken to protect Archie’s long back. His new family should be mindful of stairs, jumping on and off furniture, rough play and handling, particularly while he is still growing.
Archie is being adopted under ARK’s Deferred Desexing Program. The cost of his desexing is included in his adoption fee, subject to the terms and conditions of the adoption contract.
Archie is available for interstate adoption, and ARK can assist with transport quotes and arrangements.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
