Marcy’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. Coming to us from the streets, she learned early on that survival meant being cautious—and as a result, she arrived with a deep mistrust of humans. After fending for herself for who knows how long, it’s no surprise that learning to feel safe again is taking time.
But day by day, Marcy is showing us just how far she’s come.
With the patience and dedication of our staff, she has slowly started to let her guard down. While she’s still very much a work in progress, the breakthroughs are incredibly special—her favourite human is now rewarded with full body pats, and when she feels safe, her little purr motor switches on in the most heartwarming way.
Marcy is looking for a very special home—one that understands that trust isn’t given freely, but earned over time. She will need a calm, quiet environment with a predictable routine, where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. A home without children or dogs is essential, as she needs a peaceful space to truly relax and feel secure.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
