About Petal STA014971
Beautiful Petal is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves her people wholeheartedly — once she’s had a little time to get to know them. Petal is looking for a calm, peaceful home without children or dogs, where she’ll be given the time she needs to settle in and build a bond at her own pace.
If you’re looking for an affectionate little shadow who wants to share your lap, your bed, your playtime and quite possibly most of your personal space, Petal may be the girl for you.
Moving into a new environment can make Petal feel unsure, so she’ll need some patience while she settles into her forever home and learns that her new family can be trusted. She may occasionally become nervous and retreat to a safe hiding spot, but with some gentle reassurance and encouragement, it usually doesn’t take long before she’s ready to venture back out.
Once Petal feels at home, prepare to have a very devoted little companion!
From her foster home -
Petal is wonderfully people-oriented and actively seeks out affection and company. She loves sitting on her carer’s lap, curling up on their chest or simply settling close by for plenty of pats. At bedtime, she’s more than happy to join her people for a snooze, making sure everyone knows that personal space is highly overrated.
She’s also been showing off her playful side and has recently discovered just how much fun wand toys can be. A good play session followed by some quality cuddle time sounds like a pretty perfect day to Petal.
Sometimes Petal gets so caught up in loving her people that she’ll cling onto an arm and give a little love bite. She doesn’t break the skin — it’s simply Petal getting a little enthusiastic with her affection! Her new family will need to understand this little quirk and gently redirect her when needed.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
