About Tilly
🐾 Meet Tilly 🐾
4-Year-Old Miniature Dachshund
Tilly is a sweet, loyal little lady with a big personality that is really starting to shine. She loves being part of the family and will happily follow you from room to room just to be close to her people.
Tilly absolutely adores children and is very social with other animals. She enjoys having furry friends around and loves trying to initiate play. One thing she doesn’t appreciate, however, is possums or bush turkeys visiting her yard!
A true dachshund at heart, Tilly is highly food motivated and loves her meals. She enjoys fresh cooked food, vegetables, and gets so excited for dinner that she’ll dance around while you prepare it. Due to food guarding, Tilly must always be fed separately from other pets.
Tilly is toilet trained and confidently uses a doggy door. She knows her name well and comes when called. She has had basic training and is a quick learner who would thrive with continued positive reinforcement training.
When it comes to exercise, Tilly enjoys an active lifestyle and currently goes on 2–3 walks each day, usually around an hour at a time. She also loves soaking up the sunshine and can often be found stretched out in a warm sunny spot.
Tilly enjoys car rides and travels beautifully in the back seat. If given the chance to ride in the front, she’ll happily try to curl up on your lap for extra cuddles.
At home, Tilly is affectionate and loving. She enjoys sleeping close to her people and often likes to be touching you while she rests. She is extremely loyal and thrives on companionship. Because she is currently with her carer almost 24/7, she can experience some separation anxiety and would do best with a family who is home often or willing to help her gradually build confidence when left alone.
Tilly even enjoys bath time and handles grooming well.

Adoption details
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the Promising Paws Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal.
We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home or in a public place. If you have other animals they should please be at the meet.
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed (e.g. size of dog, diet, temperament, exercise requirements).
Supporting documents required:
Real estate approval or proof of home ownership such as a rates notice;
Photos of your fence and current pets, if applicable.
The dog will be up to date with all vaccinations and worming as at the time of adoption. Any future vaccinations and preventatives will be at the adopter's expense.*
