Rucker is a sweet young man with a heart of gold. After arriving in foster care timid and unsure, he’s made incredible progress and is now a loving, affectionate little companion who adores cuddles on the couch, and resting his head in your lap. He’s learned to climb stairs, knows “sit,” walks nicely on lead, and enjoys a good balance of adventures and afternoon naps.

Like any teenage puppy, Rucker is well and truly in his "turd" era. He's cheeky, stubborn, and currently testing every boundary he can find. If he thinks the rules might be negotiable, he'll happily give it a try! He also can be mouthy and is learning that people aren't chew toys. He'll need a home that's committed to continuing his training with consistency, patience, and a good sense of humour. The good news? He's a smart little guy who wants to please, and with clear boundaries and positive reinforcement, this teenage phase won't last forever.

Rucker would suit a home with dog savvy children, and would be fine as an only dog or with a calm resident dog. He would be happy in an apartment but would love a secure yard to explore. He can be left alone for periods of time, and he’ll thrive with ongoing training, regular walks, and plenty of chew toys and puzzles to keep his clever mind busy.
