Koda arrived at the shelter as a surrender after his beloved dog companion passed away. The loss was a lot for him to process, and he developed some separation anxiety that his previous owners couldn't manage. Because he simply thrives on companionship, his ideal forever home will either have another friendly dog to keep him company or human family members who are home more often than not. He is an incredibly affectionate boy who absolutely adores people and will do wonderful in a home with primary school aged children and above.

There are just a few specific needs to keep in mind for Koda's perfect match. He can be a bit resource guardy with his food around other animals, but this is easily managed in the home simply by feeding him in a separate area away from other pets. Additionally, he cannot live in a home with cats as they tend to spook him a little.

When it comes to his favorite pastimes, Koda is a certified fetch enthusiast who will happily chase squeaky balls for as long as you are willing to throw them. He also has a endearing habit of carrying a toy around in his mouth, which serves as his ultimate comfort blanket when he is wandering around the house. On top of his charming personality, Koda is already fully toilet trained and has excellent house manners.
