About Hermit
Some cats wear their hearts on their sleeves. Hermit keeps his tucked away, carefully protected until he knows he's safe.
Life has taught this sweet boy to be cautious. Loud footsteps, sudden movements and a busy home can be overwhelming, and his first instinct is to find somewhere quiet to hide. He needs a family who will understand that trust can't be rushed and that love sometimes grows in whispers instead of leaps.
But if you're patient enough to let Hermit come to you, you'll discover the most beautiful side of him.
His foster carer has watched him slowly come out of his shell, and now, at the end of each day, the moment someone sits down to relax, Hermit quietly appears looking for pats and cuddles. He absolutely adores affection once he feels comfortable, and if you dare stop patting him too soon, he'll gently let you know he wasn't finished yet.
Hermit isn't looking for a loud or busy household. He is searching for a quiet, understanding home with kind people who will give him all the time he needs to settle in and realise that he is finally safe.
The family lucky enough to earn Hermit's trust won't just be adopting a ca ... they'll be watching a frightened little soul slowly learn how to love. Those are the moments that stay with you forever.
If you have a calm home, a patient heart and room for a shy little cat who just wants to feel safe, Hermit is waiting to meet you.
Hermit is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Hermit - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
