About Wilma
If you walk past Wilma's enclosure in the shelter, you might not notice her at all.
She'll likely be tucked away, avoiding the noise and chaos around her, looking like she's given up on the world. The shelter is simply too much for this sensitive little soul, and it's heartbreaking to watch such a beautiful cat shut down in an environment that overwhelms her.
But that's not who Wilma really is.
In foster care, away from the constant noise and unfamiliar faces, a completely different cat began to emerge. Given time and patience, she started exploring her surroundings, scratching away happily on her scratching post, chasing toys and enjoying life again. She even adored spending time with her two kittens and would likely thrive in a home with a friendly, playful feline companion to help build her confidence.
Wilma isn't the kind of cat who will rush over to greet you on day one. She needs a quiet home, patient people and the understanding that trust is earned, not expected. She deserves someone willing to look beyond the frightened little cat they see in the shelter and believe in the cat she can become.
And if you're wondering how to win her over? The answer is simple: Churu treats. They're the fastest way to this sweet girl's heart.
Wilma is not presenting well in the adoption centre, and we're worried she may continue to be overlooked simply because she's scared. But somewhere out there is the person who will see past the fear and give her the chance she desperately needs.
With love, patience and a quiet place to call home, we know Wilma's true personality will shine once again.
Wilma is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Wilma - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
