Introducing Riva!

Riva is a beautiful young Border Collie looking for a patient and understanding home that can help her continue building confidence and navigating the world around her.

As a young Border Collie, Riva will thrive in a home that can provide ongoing training, mental enrichment, and appropriate physical exercise. Puzzle toys, training games, scent work, and structured activities will be essential in helping her become the best version of herself.

Riva is not a “ready-made” dog and will require patience, consistency, and commitment. In return, she offers the opportunity to build an incredible bond and a loyal and intelligent companion, who is eager to learn and grow alongside her person.

***Riva would likely be best suited to home that is experienced with dogs of her breed and are willing to continue her training.***

Due to Riva’s lack of exposure she is still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. She can be nervous around new people and unfamiliar situations, but when given time, space, and understanding, she begins to show her sweet and affectionate personality.

Riva is currently undergoing foundational obedience training as well as crate training and is making steady progress. She does, however, experience a small amount of separation stress and will need a home committed to continuing her training and helping her through this.

With other dogs, Riva is social and enjoys canine company, particularly with smaller dogs. While she can coexist with larger dogs, she tends to feel more comfortable around dogs closer to her own size.

Due to her strong herding instincts and prey drive, Riva is not suitable for homes with cats, pocket pets, or other small animals.
