Douglas, affectionately known as Dougie, is looking for his next adventure and a loving home to call his own.

About Dougie

Dougie is a gentle, sweet-natured boy who enjoys the comforts of home and the freedom to choose where he spends his day. Whether it's curling up inside for a nap, lounging on the couch, or soaking up the sunshine in the garden, Dougie loves having access to both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Child Friendly

Yes. Dougie has spent time around children aged 2 and 4 years old and has been comfortable and well-behaved with them.

Dog Friendly

Yes. Dougie regularly spends time with his canine cousins, a Beaglier and an Italian Greyhound, and enjoys their company. He generally ignores unfamiliar dogs and is not reactive, although he prefers not to be approached by other dogs.

Personality

Dougie can be a little timid and anxious, particularly in new environments or when meeting new people. Busy roads, bicycles, and scooters passing on footpaths can make him uncomfortable. He is happiest on quiet suburban streets, in parks, or in calm environments.

With patience, understanding, and time to settle in, Dougie builds confidence and becomes a loving and loyal companion. Once he feels safe and comfortable, his gentle personality truly shines.

Home Life

Dougie thrives in a home where he can have the run of the house and choose where he would like to spend his time. He enjoys being close to his people and has become accustomed to sleeping on the bed at night, although he is equally happy snoozing on his dog bed or the couch during the day.

A sunny spot in the garden is one of his favourite places to relax.

Dietary Requirements

Dougie has a sensitive stomach and cannot tolerate standard supermarket canned dog foods.

Following veterinary advice, he is currently suited to:

Hill's Prescription Diet – Food Sensitivities z/d
Royal Canin Veterinary Diet – Hypoallergenic

Any dietary changes should be introduced carefully and under veterinary guidance.

Ideal Home

Dougie would love a calm, patient home where his gentle nature is understood and respected. A quieter environment with access to both indoor and outdoor areas would suit him best. He would thrive with owners who are happy to let him settle at his own pace and provide him with the security and routine he enjoys.
