Meet Frank – The Independent King 👑
Frank is a very big, very handsome guy who came to us as a stray, and it’s safe to say he’s spent most of his life calling the shots. The concept of having a human “servant” is still a bit beneath him—but he’s adjusting… in his own way.
After a few months in foster care, Frank has made his priorities crystal clear: food and fellow felines. He absolutely adores other cats and would thrive in a home with a confident resident feline looking for a quirky, loyal companion.
Now, let’s be honest—Frank is not here to be your lap cat. In fact, he prefers to keep his distance from human touch. But what he lacks in cuddles, he more than makes up for in personality. Whether he’s lounging in his favourite box, watching the world (or TV) go by, or giving you his signature deeply judgemental stare, Frank is always making his presence known.
He also has a bit of a mischievous streak—food left unattended may mysteriously be “liberated,” so you’ll need to stay one step ahead of this clever boy.
Frank is looking for a home that appreciates him for exactly who he is: independent, hilarious, and unapologetically himself. If your cat is searching for a best friend and you’re happy to coexist with a very opinionated housemate, Frank might just be your perfect match.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
