About Gunther
Gunther is a sweet and affectionate boy with a gentle heart. While he loves being around his people, he can feel worried in new environments or when faced with fast movements and loud noises. Because of this, Gunther is looking for a calm, understanding home that can offer him structure, routine, and plenty of reassurance as he settles in.
Gunther may benefit from crate training, as having a safe, quiet space of his own can help him feel secure when he’s overwhelmed. He can be a little unsure about handling at times, so it’s important that his new family takes things slowly, keeps interactions positive, and allows him to build trust at his own pace.
He’s very food motivated, which is a great tool for training and bonding! Daily enrichment activities are strongly recommended to keep his mind active and engaged, helping him grow in confidence. While he hasn’t shown much interest in toys at the shelter, this may change once he feels comfortable and relaxed in a home environment.
Gunther is best suited to a household with adults who are calm, respectful, and willing to be involved in his training. It’s important that everyone understands basic dog body language and meets him prior to adoption.
If you already have another dog, a meet-and-greet will be required to ensure everyone gets along.
With patience, kindness, and the right support, Gunther has so much love to give and will make a deeply loyal and rewarding companion.
