About JayJay
Meet JayJay, a delightful bundle of love packed into a cute little package. This charming dog is sure to warm your heart—and your lap—on those chilly winter nights. An expert cuddler and smoocher, JayJay adores snuggling up for hours on end, showcasing his affectionate and warm nature. Despite his small size, he's got a big personality that he loves to communicate through his unique little chats, letting you know exactly what he needs and wants.
Though JayJay came to his foster home a bit on the reactive side, he's made leaps and bounds with the right mix of patience, practice, and of course, cuddles. While he might express mild discontent with a gentle grumble when faced with things he doesn't like, such as getting dressed up in a jacket, JayJay has developed into a well-mannered companion. Given his headstrong character, he would thrive best in a home without young children, with people who are accustomed to Chihuahuas or dogs with similar temperaments.
At nine years old, JayJay is still as spritely as ever, eager to join in your activities and share your daily adventures. He’s a quick study, already proving that he’s nearly house-trained and has been accident-free for weeks. JayJay also sleeps soundly through the night, ensuring a peaceful rest for both himself and his family. While he loves a playful romp with his canine friends, he tends to prefer observing from the comfort of his guardian's lap when things get too energetic.

Medical notes
9 year old Jay Jay is desexed, microchipped, up to date with vaccinations, as well as flea, tick, heart worm and intestinal worm prevention.
Jay Jay has had some dental work done whilst in care with about 7 extractions and we recommend at least 12 monthly dental checks for all small breed dogs.
Jay Jay has had a full vet check including bloods, and he is a healthy dog.
Adoption details
Chihuahua Rescue QLD Inc. is not a first to apply rescue group.We re-home our dogs based on the best possible family we can find them.
The first step to adopting a dog from us is to fill out an expression of interest form.
We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible about your family and your home as this helps us make sure we match you with the most suitable dog.

Due to the large volume of inquiries we are unable to respond to all applications. If you are considered suitable for the dog you have applied for you will be contacted witihin one week of applying.
Please note: we do not organise any meet and greet without a completed expression of interest form.
Our adoption process involves:
1) Completing online application form - only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
2) Arranging a meet and greet with the dogs foster carer, after which we ask you to take 24 hours to make a decision about whether you want to adopt this dog
3) A brief home visit and yard check from one of our volunteers
4) Adoption trial spanning four weeks.
We ask that you pay the dogs adoption fee at the beginning of the adoption trial, however this will be refunded if for any reason the dog is not working out in your home within the four week period. We offer a four week adoption trial to make sure that you have plenty of time for your new dog to settle into your home and so we can offer you full support during this period and beyond.
We offer a free health check with our vets at Browns Plains, Jindalee or Kedron vet clinic after you’ve adopted your dog and every dog in our care is up to date with all vet work.
