About Ruby
Ruby's breed is unknown, we are guessing she will be medium to large in size.
Ruby requires the following in her new home.
- Another desexed playful male dog living in the home, (not puppy or senior), or a home with people home often.
- No children under 8.
- To be given time to feel confident in new environments and around new people.
- Continued training with toilet training, walking on lead and manners.
- A fully secure fenced yard.
Ruby is a super cuddly bug with her people, and is happy to follow them around while they do chores. If her people are not available she loves to play with other dogs, she can be a bit submissive and prefers gentle play.
Ruby enjoys a yard with enough room for her to run and play, she attempts to play fetch but sometimes gets distracted and forgets to bring it back; it's more about fun than technique.
Ruby can start off a little shy with new people but once she feels comfortable she expects the same level of cuddles as she does from her people. When she meets someone new she can sometimes let a little wee out, from a mixture of nerves and excitement.
Ruby needs people to approach her in a calm manner until she gets to know them, she will be best in a home without children under 16 years. Ruby is very happy in the car but can be a little nervous getting out in a new environment. Once she has had time to adjust she will happily explore her environment.
She loves going for walks and can pull at times if something has caught her attention (cause she hasn’t experienced the outside world much yet) but she is very easy to redirect, she loves going for sniff walks.
The good news is she is very food motivated and this is a great way to win her heart and to train her. She is toilet trained when she has a regular toilet schedule and remains accident free, she may regress a little in a new environment until she knows where to go. Ruby is crate trained and happily sleeps all night in there.
Once she is comfortable, she is a very happy dog. She loves being with her people but also likes having other dogs with her which helps with her confidence.

Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis. We assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animals needs.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home, please send us a detailed email with some information about the people and any other animals in your home, as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteers who run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home must attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a fully refundable 2 week trial period. If you ever find yourself unable to care for, or keep your pet, please contact us and they will come back into our care, or we will do our best to assist you in finding them a suitable new home, this is a condition thst you agree to when signing our Adoption Agreement.
