About Sidney
Sidney is a black cat with black cat attitude. Not every kitten is desperate for attention. Sidney is something rarer: a confident little lad who chooses his people carefully, but once you're approved, you're in.
Sidney has all the charm of a classic black cat. He enjoys affection on his terms, and when he's ready for scratches, he'll make sure you know about it. And he loves a good scratch. Call him over and he'll come ... provided he doesn't have something more important to investigate first. After all, kings don't answer summons, they grant audiences.
This handsome young adventurer spent the first seven weeks of his life exploring a Sydney backyard, which may explain his self-assured nature and endless curiosity. These days he's embraced indoor living and enjoys spending time with his siblings and people, while still maintaining that independent streak that makes him so entertaining.
If there's a toy ball nearby, expect Sidney to be fully occupied. If there's a mysterious corner to inspect, he'll be on the case immediately. He approaches life with confidence, curiosity, and the quiet certainty that everything in his kingdom deserves a thorough investigation.
About him:
- Confident, independent, and full of character
- Playful, energetic, and endlessly curious
- Happy as a companion for singles, couples, or families
- Enjoys human company without being clingy
- The perfect mix of affection and independence
Sidney isn't looking for servants, he's looking for loyal subjects, trusted companions, and a home worthy of his royal presence.
If you're searching for a kitten with personality, confidence, and just a touch of attitude, Sidney may be exactly the companion you've been waiting for.

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption enquiry should be made via
https://form.jotform.com/shellys.place.rescue/adoption-enquiry
2. Once your application has been received, one of our volunteers will contact you for a phone interview. This is to determine whether one of our cats or kittens will be a good fit for your home. We all want long-term success in placing rescue animals, so finding the best fit for the animal AND the family is very important.
3. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place if the application is approved.
4. A property check will take place via a video. Once this has been successfully completed, adoption paperwork finalised and the adoption donation processed, the pet can be collected from foster care.
5. A 14 day settling-in period commences once the animal has been collected from foster care.
6. Adoption is finalised after 14 days. Paperwork/records will be included in an adoption pack.
7. All animals will be rehomed desexed, 1st vaccinated, microchipped and treated monthly for fleas and intestinal worms. Once the adoption is finalised, the new owners are responsible for all vaccinations and preventative treatments.
As we are run entirely of volunteers we endeavour to respond to your enquiry as soon as we can. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to hold any animals. Please only apply if you are ready to adopt now.
