About Hercules
Hi, I'm Hercules.
Not the one from Mount Olympus, but I like to think we have a few things in common.
My story didn't begin in a grand palace or with a cheering crowd. I arrived as a stray, making my way through the world on my own. I waited for someone to come looking for me, but no one ever did. Like any good hero, though, I learned that where you start doesn't have to decide where you end up.
These days, I'm on a different kind of journey. I'm searching for what Hercules was searching for all along: a place where I truly belong.
Along the way, I discovered that I'm FIV positive. If you've heard of FIV before, you might know it sounds scarier than it really is. I can still live a long, happy life filled with love, naps, treats, and all the important cat things. I just need to be an indoor cat and have a family who understands that being FIV positive doesn't define me. It's simply one chapter in my story, not the whole tale.
If I'm being honest, I think my greatest strength isn't superhuman muscles. It's resilience. Life as a stray taught me how to keep going, even when things were uncertain. It taught me to appreciate kindness when it comes my way and to treasure the people who choose me.
I've already completed the hard labours. I've survived life on the streets. I've overcome being overlooked. I've faced my FIV diagnosis with courage. Now there's just one final quest left.
Maybe my happy ending isn't written among the stars after all. Maybe it's curled up on your couch, basking in a sunbeam, finally knowing that I am exactly where I'm meant to be.
I'm Hercules, and I'm ready to go the distance for my forever family.
