About Birdie
Birdie is the kind of dog that makes you wonder how you ever lived without her.
She has the most beautiful nature and is happiest simply being with her people. Whether you're relaxing on the couch, working in the garden, heading out for a walk, or spending time around the house, Birdie just wants to be by your side. She doesn't need constant entertainment; your company is enough.
Birdie would thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not. She forms strong bonds with her humans and loves being included in daily life. In return, you'll have a loyal shadow who will follow you from room to room and be your most devoted companion.
She is wonderfully adaptable when it comes to exercise. Happy to spend a quiet day snuggled up beside you, but equally excited for a walk, a play in the yard, or some joyful zoomies around the park. Once Birdie feels safe and settled, her playful side comes out, and she'll reward you with her big smile and happy little bursts of energy. She loves other dogs' company and has lived around children.
Birdie is fully house-trained and has never had an accident indoors while in foster care. She communicates beautifully, letting you know when she needs to go outside or when it's time for a meal. She's also incredibly easy-going with food, eating only when she's hungry and never overeating.
Her house manners are exceptional. She has never touched anything she shouldn't, doesn't get into mischief, and quickly learns where she's allowed to sit and sleep. Once shown her spots, she happily settles there and respects the household routine.
Walking Birdie is an absolute pleasure. She walks beautifully on lead and never pulls. In fact, after just one day in foster care, we no longer needed to keep her on a lead around our acreage. She naturally stayed close, happily following us, running little circles around us, and never wandering far from her people.
One of Birdie's sweetest qualities is how affectionate she is. She absolutely adores cuddles and will often look deeply into your eyes while you're patting her, as if she's trying to tell you how much she loves you. Those quiet moments with Birdie are something truly special.
She sleeps beautifully indoors, has impeccable manners, and is genuinely one of the most well-behaved and easy-going dogs I've had the privilege of fostering.
Birdie isn't just looking for a home, she's looking for her person. Someone who wants a loyal best friend, a constant companion, and a dog who will love them with her whole heart.
If you're looking for an amazingly gentle, affectionate, incredibly well-mannered dog who will fit seamlessly into family life, Birdie may just be the perfect match.
