About Chippy - 4 Month Old Kelpie
Meet Chippy , a very handsome young Kelpie with a big heart and plenty of spark who is ready to be your best mate.
Chippy is true to his kelpie nature he’s bouncy, enthusiastic, playful and loyal. He loves all his humans and gets along well with the other dogs in the household. He loves a cuddle and sits at your feet but respecting personal space is not yet his forte as he follows you everywhere. He’s a devoted apprentice. Chippy doesn’t mind spending a few hours on his own with company of another dog. He travels well in the car obviously hoping for another adventure.
He came into foster care with little training and picked up the routines of the home very quickly. Chippy is food motivated and has great potential to be a brilliant dog with consistent routine. He is learning to walk on a loose leash but will need a family ready to help him with positive force free training and continued socialisation. His off-leash behaviour is exceptional and he’s keen to please his people and give new things a try. Of course Chippy is a work in progress as he is a young pup, but with continued positive socialisation, enrichment and routine this smart cookie will be the perfect family dog. He is suitable to kids over 8 as he’s still a young pup.
He has been exposed to chickens in his foster home and shows prey drive. He has shown interest in working cattle with great natural skill when he has had the opportunity and anyone who has livestock might take this into consideration. If you are looking for an affectionate loyal companion with spark and plenty of potential Chippy is the dog for you.
His adoption fee is $800, which includes desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms and is microchipped.
He is in foster care in Dungog, NSW. As he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption within the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland, Cessnock, Upper Hunter including Singleton and Muswellbrook), as well as the Central Coast and Sydney. He will need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing by 6 months.
