Xena

Meet Xena — a 5 month old female red cattle dog x bull terrier puppy with a playful personality and lots of potential. She’s a cheeky, affectionate girl who loves being involved with her people and is always making her foster carers laugh with her antics.

**Xena will need a home that already has a lovely dog to keep her happy and confident**

Xena displays some of the best traits of both breeds and would thrive in a home that understands working breeds. She’s a smart, busy puppy who will do best with structure, consistency and adequate mental and physical enrichment. She would likely thrive on a property or in an active home, and even shows potential for dogs sports. Xena enjoys being around dogs and would do well with a playful, patient canine companion who can match her energy and play style.

Xena loves to be included in whatever her people are doing - whether that’s going to the beach, helping out with the gardening or cuddling on the couch. She has been loving play, obedience and trick training and walks and has been lovely to take out and about, being friendly towards both people and dogs, while checking in with her handler for direction.

Xena is a smart puppy who has learnt sit, down, wait, spin, place, paw and touch. Her recall is coming along nicely and she walks quite well on lead, a rarity for a pup her age. Ongoing training and clear boundaries will be important as she matures. She’s taken well to crate training and is working on settling independently and spending periods alone. Her house manners are coming along nicely, including toilet training – she now sleeps through the night in her crate without needing to toilet.

With the continuation of training, consistency and outlets for her energy, Xena has all the makings of an incredibly fun, loyal and rewarding companion.
