About Billy (60926)
Meet Billy, our beautiful Staghound mix with a gentle soul and lots of potential. Billy came to us as a stray, so his past is a bit of a mystery. What we do know is that he's a sensitive boy who is still learning that the world can be a safe and happy place.
Billy has now spent many months in foster refining his house etiquette and walking skills with some very dedicated carers. Billy is great around the home, sleeping overnight outdoors in his open crate, he is fully toilet trained, loves the car, is not destructive at all, can be at home alone comfortably for periods, he is patient and affectionate and absolutely loves routines. Some things he is working on are walking calmly in busy areas and meeting dogs politely. Billy was a nervous dog initially when meeting new people but has really thrived meeting different visitors in his supportive foster family.
Billy may still be nervous in a different home and will need time, patience, and understanding to build trust with his new family. A calm, experienced home would suit him best-someone who can guide him through ongoing socialisation and help him feel secure both indoors and outdoors. Billy is NOT suited to living with a cat. Billy has not shown any interest in engaging with children so probably best in a child free home. A quiet place where he can retreat and decompress will be essential.
Underneath his worries, Billy has all the makings of a playful, affectionate, and loyal companion. With the right support, his true personality is ready to shine.
