Meet Chantilly – Your Loving New Best Friend

Are you looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who will happily share your daily life and your sofa? Then Chantilly could be the perfect match.

After spending time in the pound, Chantilly is thriving in foster care and has settled beautifully into home life. She enjoys her daily routines, loves her walks, and is happiest when she's close to her people. In fact, she'll happily follow her foster mum from room to room, just to be part of whatever is happening.

At around 10kg, Chantilly has a gentle, quiet nature and an affectionate temperament. She enjoys spending her days relaxing near her humans and her evenings snuggled on the sofa before settling into her favourite armchair for a full night's sleep.

Known affectionately as Tilly, she has some adorable quirks. When she's especially happy, she does little "jumps for joy"—particularly first thing in the morning when she sees her favourite person. She also loves having her lower back scratched and will stretch her head towards the ceiling in pure delight.

Her Ideal Home:
Chantilly would thrive as the only dog in the household, where she can enjoy all the love and attention for herself. She forms strong bonds with her people and would suit a home where someone is around more often than not, as she experiences some separation anxiety.

She can cope with being left alone for a few hours a couple of times a week, provided she has access to a comfortable indoor area and secure outdoor space. However, she is not suited to crate training, as confinement increases her anxiety.

When meeting new people, children, or dogs while out walking, Chantilly can be a little nervous at first. With gentle introductions, reassurance, and praise, she relaxes and becomes more comfortable. While initially reserved with unfamiliar visitors, she warms up nicely to people she sees regularly.

Exercise and Training:
Chantilly is lovely to walk on lead and enjoys getting out and about with her person. She is still learning to fully relax and enjoy her adventures, but she is making great progress.

Car travel is currently her biggest challenge, and she can be quite anxious during trips. Her foster mum has been helping her build confidence through short, positive outings, and she continues to improve.

Children and Other Animals:
Chantilly would be best suited to a home with children aged 7 years and older.

She has shown polite, non-reactive behaviour when meeting other dogs on walks, although she would prefer to be the only dog in her home. She is cautious around cats and has not been tested living with one.

A Special Girl Looking for Her Person
One of Chantilly's sweetest routines is bedtime. Each night, her foster mum tells her a short bedtime story and gives her a cuddle in her armchair before sleep. This comforting ritual helps her feel secure and sleep peacefully through the night.
